LEAGUE DESCRIPTIONS AND OTHER FAQ'S ABOUT THE LEAGUES
The Kingston Lakers Basketball Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a fun and safe recreational environment for basketball in the Greater Kingston Area. The Lakers youth basketball league is designed for players of all abilities to enjoy the game. It focuses on teaching the basic skills of basketball, such as passing, pivoting, dribbling, shooting, defense, and teamwork. Emphasis is placed on participation and sportsmanship at all levels, with a primary focus on developing individual skills and overall team concepts. Each session is led by experienced community members who bring valuable basketball knowledge and life skills to guide our youth.

Grassroots League: This league aims to introduce and nurture a love for basketball among girls and boys in grades 1-3, combining fun with the development of individual basketball skills.
Girls League: Designed for girls in grades 4 and 5 who play for the love of the game, this league offers a structured environment to practice both individual and team skills while introducing gameplay.
Senior Girls League: Aimed at girls in grades 6 through 8 who play for the love of the game, this league offers a slightly higher level of competition compared to the mixed league.
Junior Boys League: Designed for boys in grades 4 and 5 who play for the love of the game, this league provides a structured setting to practice both individual and team skills while introducing gameplay.
Senior Boys League: Aimed at boys in grades 6 through 8 who play for the love of the game, this league offers a slightly higher level of competition compared to the mixed league.
Registration fee is $150.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds are contingent on the availability of a player from the waiting list to fill the spot. No refunds will be issued after these dates, with no exceptions.
Additionally, any parent with previous basketball experience who is willing to coach a team will receive a financial discount towards their child's registration fee. To take advantage of this benefit, you will need to register as a coach in our league system.
If any of our former players who have aged out are seeking high school volunteer hours, please sign up as a Volunteer in our league system.
